worldsteel Report: July 2026 Crude Steel Production

World crude steel production for the 70 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 149.2 million tonnes (Mt) in July 2026, a 0.3% decrease compared to July 2025.

Crude steel production by region

Africa produced 2.0 Mt in July 2026, up 6.1% on July 2025. Asia and Oceania produced 109.4 Mt, down 1.2%. The EU (27) produced 10.5 Mt, up 3.8%. Europe, Other produced 3.7 Mt, up 5.8%. The Middle East produced 3.8 Mt, down 13.4%. North America produced 9.6 Mt, up 4.9%. Russia & other CIS + Ukraine produced 6.7 Mt, up 2.2%. South America produced 3.6 Mt, up 2.8%.

Top 10 steel-producing countries

China produced 76.9 Mt in July 2026, down 3.6% on July 2025. India produced 14.4 Mt, up 1.9%. The United States produced 7.4 Mt, up 4.4%. Japan produced 6.9 Mt, up 0.4%. Russia is estimated to have produced 5.7 Mt, up 3.3%. South Korea produced 5.7 Mt, up 6.4%. Türkiye produced 3.4 Mt, up 7.0%. Germany is estimated to have produced 2.8 Mt, up 3.0%. Brazil produced 2.8 Mt, up 0.1%. Viet Nam produced 2.7 Mt, up 34.7%.
