Ecomondo 2026: Innovation4Waste presents its IOT Ecosystem

RFID readers, smart locks, asset trackers, fill-level sensors and AI-powered on-board units revolutionising waste management.

The Internet of Things is the technological driver to revolutionise waste collection management, turning our urban centres into true smart cities that are more efficient and sustainable. With this future-oriented vision, Innovation4Waste announces its participation in Ecomondo 2026. From 3 to 6 November, at the Rimini Expo Centre (Pavilion C5, Booth 304), the Italian company will be among the key players at Italian Exhibition Group’s international event dedicated to the green, blue and circular economy, to present its smart IoT ecosystem to companies, institutions and policy makers.

Smart waste management ecosystem: The IOT transforming waste collection

Backed by twenty years of vertical experience in the waste sector and 100% in-house production, Innovation4Waste is the Partitalia brand developing IoT solutions for waste collection with advanced technologies. At Ecomondo, the company will showcase its Smart Waste Management Ecosystem: an IoT ecosystem designed to collect, monitor and unlock the value of collection data, consisting of a comprehensive range of solutions – RFID readers, smart locks, asset trackers, fill-level sensors and AI-powered on-board units – governed by a single centralised system to transform waste management in the smart city.

IOT solutions for Pay-As-You-Throw

Through RFID identification and advanced acquisition systems for waste disposal and field collection, the IoT solutions for Pay-As-You-Throw guarantee data reliability during collection and secure cloud transmission, alongside full device configurability and comprehensive remote monitoring. These include Discovery Mobile UHF, the practical, lightweight, and shock-resistant wearable device that automatically certifies waste collection without disrupting the operator’s workflow.

Furthermore, the stand-alone and ultra-resistant vehicle RFID systems, comprising the BlackIP UHF antenna for waste collection vehicles and the 8-key KeasyBoard keypad, which sends anomalies and data collected by the antenna directly to the cloud. Finally, ID-Access, the smart lock for street bins and collection centres, which enables waste disposal exclusively for authorised users and allows for remote bin monitoring.

IOT solutions for asset monitoring

Innovation4Waste’s Smart Waste Management Ecosystem further integrates advanced technologies for asset tracking, ensuring the complete remote management of vehicles and containers. For monitoring the fill level of bins, the company proposes SmartLevel Matrix, the optical sensor that performs a matrix scan of the bin’s internal surface to detect its fill level with extreme precision.

On the asset and fleet management front, we find Asset Track-ID, the device that tracks the real-time position of containers, preventing theft or loss and optimising the planning of operations. And then Evotrack25, the on-board unit with artificial intelligence functionalities that can be integrated into the vehicle, paired with the Android EvoDisplay monitor for waste collection vehicles.

GlIX and MDM: centralised control and diagnostics for the IOT Ecosystem

To manage the entire device fleet, GLIX comes into play: the cloud platform for remote and centralised asset control. Through a single interface, the solution enables users to locate devices, verify their operational status, analyse information in real time, and define customised rules.
Supporting the platform, MDM (Mobile Device Management) governs the IoT fleet, ensuring a constant and secure flow of data.

In addition to collecting data from RFID readers, fill-level sensors and smart bins, the system carries out comprehensive diagnostics on device operation. Indeed, it enables anomaly tracking, testing and commissioning, and verification that equipment has been properly installed. Finally, it guarantees the absolute security of RFID readings, ensuring that no data is ever lost.

„The real challenge for those managing vehicles and teams on the ground is having the certainty that the technological infrastructure works flawlessly, turning huge amounts of information into tangible value,“ emphasises Marco Bavastrelli, Export Sales Manager at Innovation4Waste. „Our MDM was created precisely for this purpose: to monitor device health and certify roll-out activities, relieving operators of technical complexities. Every single reading is protected and tracked: an absolute guarantee, essential for managing Pay-As-You-Throw with total reliability.“
