From 18 to 20 September 2025, Istanbul will once again become the international hub for the aluminium and non-ferrous metal industry:
ALUEXPO – 9th International Aluminium Technologies, Machinery and Products Fair – will open its doors at the Istanbul Expo Centre. As the leading platform in the Eurasian region, the trade fair offers innovation, exchange and technological perspectives along the entire value chain of the aluminium industry.
High demand for metal products – great opportunities for the aluminium industry
With around 85 million of population, Türkiye is not only a dynamic growth market with a forecast GDP growth of 3.1% for 2025 (3.2% in 2024 and 2% in the first quarter of 2025), but also a key player in international metal trading. Its favourable geopolitical location, customs union with the EU and broad-based industry make the country an attractive target market for companies in the aluminium and foundry industry.
The 50% tariffs on aluminium and steel introduced by the US government under President Trump have significantly altered global trade flows – a trend that is further strengthening Türkiye’s position as a business location and increasing its importance on the world market. Domestic demand is also growing in the aluminium industry. Increasing urbanisation and the expansion of infrastructure, industrial facilities and mobility solutions are driving demand for light metals. Aluminium products are in high demand, particularly in construction, transport, electrical engineering, packaging and the defense industry due to their versatility, recyclability and energy efficiency.
According to Talsad, with an annual production of over 2 million tonnes, the Turkish aluminium industry is one of the most important in the region. Exports of aluminium and non-ferrous metals are growing steadily, especially to the EU. At the same time, demand for state-of-the-art machinery, recycling solutions and energy-efficient production facilities is rising rapidly. Companies are investing heavily in decarbonisation and digitalisation to remain competitive. The National Energy Efficiency Action Plan is also creating new markets, for example for insulating materials, smart building technology and lightweight components in the transport sector.
Catalyst for innovation and sustainability
At Aluexpo 2025, 466 exhibitors from 29 countries will present their innovations. Industry giants such as ABP Induction Systems, Otto Junker, Asaş, Assan Alüminyum San. ve Tic. and Qatar Aluminium will be there. They will showcase the latest technologies and solutions from the fields of primary and secondary aluminium, foundry machinery, surface technology, recycling and environmental technology.
The 12th International Aluminium Symposium, taking place parallel to the trade fair, will bring together international experts from science and industry to discuss the latest scientific findings and technological developments and jointly shape the future of the aluminium industry. It will focus on a wide range of current industry topics such as:
- Sustainability, the Green Deal and recycling
- Technologies for aluminium production
- Global aluminium industry, international trade and market trends
- Melting, casting and recycling technologies
- Heat treatment and property improvement
- Extrusion, rolling and forming processes
- New and advanced aluminium alloys
- Aluminium production and its applications
- New technology applications in the aluminium sector
- New products and new markets
- Additive manufacturing technologies
- Occupational health and safety

Whether it’s the automotive, aviation or construction industry, Istanbul will be the meeting place for decision-makers from industry, research and politics for three days. The trade fair is aimed specifically at foundries, plant manufacturers, machine manufacturers and metalworking companies from Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
Aluexpo 2025 is part of Messe Düsseldorf’s international trade fair portfolio „The Bright World of Metals“, which also includes the world’s leading trade fairs GIFA, METEC, Thermprocess and Newcast, as well as Ankiros in Turkey. Together with its joint venture partner Deutsche Messe AG, Messe Düsseldorf is organising the event via Hannover Messe Ankiros Fuarcılık A.S. in order to further expand its thematic leadership in the field of metallurgy.
