ECON GmbH, an Upper Austrian company and international specialist in pelletizing systems for plastics processing, officially opened its new sales, service, and production subsidiary, ECON Brasil, in Antônio Carlos in the state of Santa Catarina on August 25, 2026. This marks another important step in the company’s global expansion and lays the foundation for even closer support of its customers in South America.
The new location combines sales, service, assembly, and logistics. Spare parts and machine assemblies are stocked locally, ensuring significantly shorter response times for service and maintenance requests. ECON Brasil therefore provides an important base for the efficient implementation of plant projects in the South American market.
“South America, and Brazil in particular, is becoming increasingly important to our strategy. With our new subsidiary, we are closer to the market and can respond to customer requirements more quickly and effectively,” says Gerhard Hehenberger, CEO & Founder of ECON.
Local expertise for the Brazilian market
Dominik Kline, CEO of ECON Brasil, is responsible for the new location. He combines extensive international leadership experience and a strong technical background with in-depth market knowledge of Brazil and other South American countries. His command of German, Portuguese, Spanish, and English also facilitates direct communication with customers and partners across the region.
“We see significant potential in Brazil, particularly in the compounding sector. Our customers need stable and flexible processes for a wide range of materials. This is where our technology and local presence provide genuine added value. The combination of global innovation and local proximity is key,” says Dominik Kline.
During the official opening ceremony, Dominik Kline, Gerhard Hehenberger, and Michael Forstner, President & CEO of ECON USA, jointly cut the ribbon. Following the opening, the trio headed to Interplast 2026 in Joinville. From August 25 to 28, 2026, they are representing ECON at one of Latin America’s leading trade shows for the plastics industry. Visitors can find ECON at Booth R14 in Hall 1.
