Oslo, Norway — The turnover in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities was NOK 3.9 billion in March and April. This is an increase of 6.5 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2013. The turnover in recovery of sorted materials was NOK 1.4 billion in March and April. This is an increase of 4.3 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2013.
Companies that are engaged in the collection of non-hazardous waste had a turnover of NOK 1.5 billion in March and April 2014; an increase of 9.5 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2013.
The turnover of Waste activities and materials recovery in the 2nd period 2014 was 3,475 million NOK (€ 414m), including Waste collection by 1,621 million NOK, Waste treatment and disposal by 448 million NOK and Materials recovery by 1,406 million NOK. The Collection of non-hazardous waste came to 1,503 million NOK, the Collection of hazardous waste reached 118 million NOK. The Treatment and disposal of non-hazardous waste balanced 317 million NOK, the Treatment and disposal of hazardous waste 131 million NOK. Among the Materials recovery, the Dismantling of wrecks came to 6 million NOK, Recovering of sorted materials to 1,400 million NOK.
Water collection, treatment and supply rose by 71.4 in the 1st to the 2nd period 2014, Materials recovery decreased by -5.5 per cent and Waste activities and materials recovery by 0.6 per cent. Waste treatment and disposal rose by 9.8 per cent. The biggest push cabnbn be seen at the Treatment and disposal of hazardous waste by 24.8 per cent, while Remediation activites and other waste management services increased by 15.7 per cent.
