Tomra Sorting showcases latest waste sorting systems at IFAT Africa 2017

Wedel, Germany — Tomra Sorting announces its attendance at IFAT Africa 2017. The industry pioneer and manufacturer of high-efficiency waste and metal sorting systems will feature its latest sorting solutions. Staff will be available to share in-depth recycling expertise and discuss sensor-based sorting technologies, which can be used for a wide variety of applications.

Through integration of a multifunctional sorting system, such as Autosort, waste management and recycling companies can benefit from increased processing quantities and a higher purity of final recyclables. Autosort is capable of handling high throughputs and recovering a wide range of recyclables from mixed streams while scanning for enhanced material information and color in combination. Offering a multitude of flexibility, Autosort is one machine featuring multiple sorting operations, which can be controlled by a simple change in its program. Moreover, Tomra sorting technology requires very low energy consumption and is built to withstand the harshest conditions, such as dirty MRFs and scorching heat.

Recycling companies, municipalities and contractors from countries throughout Africa attend IFAT to increase awareness and take advantage of the enormous potential to improve the current waste and recycling momentum. Addressing the topic of South Africa’s impact on the global circular economy, Tasos Bereketidis, Tomra Sorting’s Regional Director Middle East & Africa, stated: “We at Tomra Sorting are proud to share our latest sorting technologies with local companies and governmental representatives in South Africa to support the country-wide mission of reducing waste sent to landfill and improve the way materials are currently recycled. We look forward to welcoming potentially interested parties at our stand at IFAT.”

IFAT Africa 2017 is taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa from September 12th to 14th. Tomra Sorting will present its sorting solutions in Hall 5, Stand 17 (German pavilion).
