Heidelberg, Germany – 1,900 visitors came to the 4th edition of WACEE – West African Clean Energy & Environment Exhibition & Conference. Organised by AHK Ghana & fairtrade, WACEE was held from 3rd to 5th November 2015 at the Accra International Conference Centre. The trade show underlined the importance of smart solutions in clean energy and environmental technology for Ghana and West Africa.

The visitors – 24 percent more than at the last fair – were mainly interested in themes like water and waste water (39 percent) and water and sewage treatment (36 percent), but also waste recycling (16 percent), refuse disposal and recycling (10 percent) and generating energy from waste materials (5 percent). 77 percent of the visitors were decision makers.

Innovations Manager Ms Akua Akyaa Nkrumak, Jekora Ventures, balanced: „Ghana is the most important market for us, to offer professional local service in waste management and resource recovery. Our target is to expand the market of our recycling services and compost products as high quality choice for environmentally friendly waste management and fertilizer.“

Once again WACEE was featured by an official “made in Germany”-pavilion with 13 German exhibitors in addition to an information stand. The German pavilion was presented by the Federal German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in cooperation with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) and supported by AHK – Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana.

The trade fair was accompanied by an action packed 3-day conference programme. Here most prominent speakers and an audience of leaders in policy and economics discussed urgent issues under the theme “Renewable energy and environment: Regulation and Implementation“.
