Padova, Italy — The Sardinia 2015 Symposium presents and promotes a 2-day parallel event on Waste Architecture, a new and relatively unexplored conceptual and design topic which promises to give rise to a lively debate between environmental professionals, and architecture and urban design experts.
The Workshop represents the first of a series of thematic seminars on environmental design and interventions related to the collection, disposal and management of waste. This first appointment will focus mainly on the architectural, functional and landscape rehabilitation of old landfills. The event is coordinated by Arcoplan / Studio associato di ingegneria e architettura with the scientific support of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering, University of Padova.
Participation to the workshop is free for all Sardinia 2015 Symposium delegates, who are kindly invited to submit a paper specifically on one of the related topics to be presented in an oral session within the workshop. In addition to those from Sardinia 2015 delegates, contributions are welcome from anyone wishing to take part in the Workshop.
The call for papers closes on 30th June 2015. Researchers or landfill rehabilitation professionals shouldn’t miss this opportunity to contribute to the debate with a paper on the Workshop’s main topics.
The Workshop will take place on 6th and 7th October 2015 at Forte Village Resort, Santa Margherita, Cagliara, Italy. More details are available on the official website under wastearchitecture.com.
